THE IMPACT

Because cleft repair surgery is not covered under Vietnam’s overburdened public health care system, thousands of children grow to adulthood with this condition untreated. Due to the way they look, these children are often ostracised by society. Many suffer from ear, nose and throat infections as well as depression and malnutrition. Most of the time, a single operation is not sufficient to resolve all effects of cleft and comprehensive care is required.

Cleft Vietnam offers comprehensive cleft treatment, especially the necessary surgeries performed by highly experienced surgeons and anaesthetists. Our partner hospitals provide high quality treatments with a variety of surgical techniques. Cleft Vietnam also finances a training program for Vietnamese medical personnel to share the latest scientific findings and treatment techniques on cleft and to train our medical teams, ensuring that we can offer high quality and secure treatments and improve the life of the patient.
